Glen Balanoff is responsible for overseeing Bancroft Capital’s negotiated underwriting desk. He brings nearly 40 years of experience in municipal underwriting to the Bancroft Team. Glen comes to Bancroft from Morgan Stanely, where he spent 14 years as the Executive Director of their underwriting department. In addition to his time at Morgan Stanley, which totaled more than 20 years in two different stints, Balanoff also worked at Bank of America. He began his underwriting career with 18 years at Merrill Lynch, after initially working as an audit supervisor at Coopers & Lybrand for five years.

Throughout his career, Balanoff has also been active in education and advocacy for future generations of industry participants. He spent a year as Chairman of the Syndicate Committee for Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), and regularly taught underwriting and syndicate as part of the Municipal Bond Club of New York’s “Bond School.” Balanoff graduated from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo with a B.S. in accounting and finance. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 53, and 63 licenses, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
