Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Veteran Initiatives Shannon Hough is a veteran of the United States Navy with more than 15 years of federal, state, and local experience directing legislative affairs, city management, and guiding policy development, planning, and implementation. Hough has managed multi-million-dollar budgets at the city and county level, and advised elected officials, municipalities, and federal agencies on best practices for marketing and implementing new initiatives. She was instrumental in lobbying for the successful passage of the Veterans Administration MISSION Act of 2019 that now allows veterans to receive health care at either a VA facility or another general provider within the community. Hough has served as both elected mayor and city manager of complex and challenging local governments.
