Bancroft Capital’s Success Equates to Successful Careers for Disabled Military Veterans

Bancroft Capital, a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), announced that two of its Veteran Training Program (VTP) graduates have advanced into successful careers with world-class financial firms.  Fort Washington, PA – May 18, 2022 Bancroft Capital, a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), announced the graduation of Candidates from, and addition of a Candidate to, its Veteran Training Program (VTP).

VTP Candidate Captain Amis Matulionis, USMC, enrolled with the VTP in January 2022 while simultaneously completing a master’s degree in Engineering Ethics and Structural and Earthquake Engineering from UCLA. With a bolstered resume that included a series of Bancroft-sponsored FINRA licenses and an SIE, and a deepened knowledge of the finance industry, he was offered and has accepted a job as an Associate at Goldman Sachs for their Healthcare Group. He previously served as a communications officer for two logistics units in Camp Pendleton, CA; served as a Command Financial Specialist, familiarizing hundreds of Marines with the Thrift Savings Plan, the military’s equivalent of a 401k plan; and was assigned to the NROTC unit at the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he, prior to establishing his new career path via the VTP, served as the Marine Officer Instructor.

“The VTP gave me confidence and options during my off-cycle IB recruiting process,” Matulionis said. “Had I missed the spring cycle, I would have had a clear tangible path with Bancroft from July to December to get fully licensed (got SIE due to VTP), deepen my knowledge of the industry, and continue networking. The value of having multiple courses of action as you transition cannot be overstated.”

He follows on the heels of former VTP Candidate Antoine Flateau, a former United States Army Officer and recent Master of Business Administration graduate, who landed his dream job in April at TRowe Price in Trading Analysis/Global Trading, after completing additional FINRA exams this year, sponsored by Bancroft. His enhanced resume and positive evaluation by Bancroft gave him a leg up toward his hire at this prestigious firm. His decorated military background includes serving in the Navy, a commission in the United States Army as a Logistics Officer, and deployment to Afghanistan. He came home from a successful deployment highly decorated with a Bronze Star Medal in 2019.

Bancroft was also excited to announce the enrollment of a new 2022 VTP Candidate, Gilbert Heath, USMC, who will be the first full-time, in-person VTP Candidate since the pandemic emerged. He will commence at the Fort Washington, PA office on July 1, 2022, for his FINRA Series Licensing training.

Over the last two years, Bancroft Capital, specializing in Institutional Brokerage and Capital Markets services, had to remodel its business plan, as many companies did, to accommodate the limitations set forth by the pandemic. This did not, however, slow down the company’s or the VTP’s success and growth. In fact, Bancroft Capital was named the ‘#1 Fastest Growing Company’ by Philadelphia 100 in 2021. Business growth fed the success of the VTP, as Candidates worked remotely to enhance their skillsets in and knowledge of, the financial industry.

“We are thrilled to welcome our first in-person VTP Candidate since 2020; Heath’s enrollment represents the greatest value we can offer any VTP Candidate by way of in-person experience and hands-on learning,” Quinn stated.

Since its inception in 2018, the VTP has welcomed 16 veterans into its program, four of whom were hired by Bancroft upon graduation. Several additional graduates have also advanced into successful careers at world-class firms; and the balance continue to cultivate a skillset and pathway to successful careers under the watchful and experienced tutelage of the expert team at Bancroft Capital.

Of the 30 accomplished brokers and finance experts that make up the Bancroft Team employed out of its four office locations nationwide, 41% are military veterans. Why the company is so military-veteran-centric, may be best explained by Bancroft Founder & CEO Cauldon D. Quinn, a disabled Navy veteran himself.

“As a disabled veteran with the experience of trying to find my place in society after my honorable discharge, I was fortunate enough to find a career path that led me to be where I am today,” Quinn said. “We would be remiss if we did not find a way to offer that same opportunity for success to our brothers and sisters in arms,” Quinn said. “The veteran hiring pool is rich with great, natural leaders looking for a path to restoration as leaders in their communities, society, and families. Bancroft is proud to play a role in setting these veterans on the path to new careers by cultivating a skillset that leads to their restoration, one veteran at a time,” Quinn said.
