Posted: August 21, 2024

Ivcic will be responsible for building the new “HGP Business Institute” at his alma mater while also pursuing his MBA

Bancroft Capital, a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned broker/dealer announces that Managing Director of Municipals Michael Ivcic has been named Holy Ghost Preparatory School’s first “Business Executive in Residence” and leader of the HGP Business Institute. A 2003 graduate of HGP, Ivcic will begin his full-time role on August 26.

“This is an exciting opportunity to return to a place that was incredibly formative for me and to prepare the next generation of business leaders,” said Ivcic. “It’s a lot of change happening simultaneously, but I’m excited about all of it and look forward to enjoying the journey,”

Ivcic will be responsible for teaching classes in finance, economics, accounting, and business marketing as part of the newly created “HGP Business Institute.” The Institute will also feature unique opportunities for students to engage with current professionals in the various business disciplines, including networking dinners, shadow days, and a guest lecture series.

As one of Bancroft Capital’s Plankowners and founding members, Ivcic will remain with the firm’s public finance team but will relinquish his position as department head. Founder and CEO Cal Quinn said a plan is in place to fill the role and will be announced in the coming days.

“I am appreciative of Mike’s leadership and vision in building our municipal department from day one, and I am confident that the same dedication and commitment he showed at Bancroft will translate well into the classroom and building the HGP Business Institute,” said Quinn. “I am also thrilled that Mike will be able to remain with Bancroft and continue to deliver value-added service to the issuers with whom he has cultivated deep relationships.”

The shift in Ivcic’s roles and responsibilities also coincides with his enrollment in the MBA program at DeSales University this past June, with an expected completion date of spring 2026. DeSales also serves as an educational partner for Bancroft’s Veteran Training Program.

Bancroft holds certifications and affiliations which illustrate its national significance in the veteran, higher education and business sectors, including: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB); Elite SDVOB Network, Veterans in Business Networking for Success (VIB Network), National Veteran Business Development Council, (NVBDC); Disability: IN; NaVOBA Service- Disabled Veteran’s Business Enterprise; Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses; Merck Drexel Advanced Leadership Program for Diverse Suppliers; Villanova University; and DeSales University.
